Hello readers. I have been very invisible on the blog, as in not here or on social for a while, I know! I got a job that doesn’t give me much time off and when I do, I’m mostly exhausted. Sit on the couch, need to sleep, exhausted, but my career goals are not accomplished yet so I have to push myself. A feeling of fluidity but yet of stuck-ness (yes yes, not a word), ever felt that way? Well, that’s me.
What pushes me is not wanting to feel disappointment and my faith. Whether you believe in God or not, a belief in something/someone bigger than yourself gets many people past the struggles of life. I’m not talking about spreading a belief, I’m talking about you and what you alone believe in. That belief can propel you even when you have absolutely no one. Lastly, I have a great support system in my mom, the ultimate best friend.
Goals, I’m learning, are very easy to give up on. Call them dreams, or goals, in my head if you call them goals they seem more attainable. They are both very easy to give up on, once a mediocre solution is presented to you. Now sure not everyone is presented the best solutions if at all, but if you are, is it your job to push past the mediocre? Or to create your own better solution? These are questions we have to ask and answer for ourselves. No one can do it for us. Sure we can have supporters, who push us, but ultimately these are some of the life questions we must answer.
How do we answer them? Well, I’m finding that moving forward is the answer. Even when you don’t know exactly where that movement is taking you, but you must move. Stagnation is a killer, I know because I’ve been stagnant. It’s a killer of goals, dreams, and mostly your time. Now stagnation is different from rest. Don’t confuse the two, one is needed and the other holds you back.
Wherever you are in life, we as humans are not meant to be stuck. Movement forward in life is your right, but it’s also what comes naturally to us as humans. Think of how many goals you make every New Year’s Eve? That alone proves our need for moving forward. For movement into better. What movement is that for you? Because after all, life is fluid, constantly moving forward. We just have to make a point to move with it.-T.S.
P.S. Merry Christmas!
