A look at Warby Parker

I’m a glasses girl, I’ve been wearing them since grade school thanks to my near sided eyes. Of course at first I didn’t embrace them, as teasing was one of my priorities as a kid. Although as I grew up, I learned to like them and made them part of my personal style. Glasses can help you complete a look, just like any other accessory. The options for spectacle wearers have grown thanks to fashionable options and trendy styles. One of the companies providing fashionable and affordable options is Warby Parker. The glasses Warby Parker creates not only include the latest trends but are soft on your wallet. Unlike other glasses suppliers which include a major middle man, Warby Parker designs and creates their glasses. This process allows them to supply glasses at a lower price and connect with consumers directly. Budget friendly and fashionable, what’s not to love?

Newest Styles

In September Warby Parker launched their Fall 2017 collection of eyeglasses and various sunglasses styles. The styles and colors found in this collection were inspired by leather-bound books like the ones you might find in a college library. With a focus on color blocking and mixed materials the collection comes in classic shapes with pops of color. Scroll through to see the newest styles and some of the colors.

Home-Try-on-Program

Remember when I mentioned Warby Parkers pocket friendly capabilities? Well not only are their glasses affordable, the Home-Try-On program allows you to take their frames for a test drive. Have you ever found yourself staring at the wall of glasses at your eye doctors office when it came time to choose a pair? Well the home try on program allows you to skip the hassle by letting you try up to 5 pairs of glasses at home. The free service includes a questionnaire that learns the shape of your face whether its narrow, medium or wide. Next it learns what shape glasses you prefer which include round, rectangular, square or cate eye. Then its time to chose your color preference be it bright, neutral, black, tortoise, crystal or two-tone colors. Materials come next with the options of acetate, metal or mixed materials. Lastly tell them when your last eye exam was and your questionnaire is finished. Your results are manifested into 5 choices, that you can change or edit.

The glasses chosen for me included the rectangular Upton in the color Rosewater, Cateye Louise in Elderflower Crystal, Leighty in River Stone Blue Fade, Chelsea in Violet Magnolia and the Simone in Tea Rose Fade. I liked the selections I was given, although I changed my color options. My package arrived with the glasses neatly divided and protected. Overall the fit of the glasses was perfect. All but one that was a bit big, stayed perfectly put on the bridge of my nose. The Fall 2017 collection is not part of the Home-Try-on Program but the options are just as timeless and fashionable.

Charitable Work

Warby Parker not only makes it easy for you to chose fashionable glasses on a great budget but they also give back. Through their partnership with VisionSpring they are able to provide glasses to impoverished men and women. By doing so they are able to go to work and provide for their families. Warby Parker also conducts eye exams and provides students with glasses, many who are receiving their first pair ever. Their program Pupils Project combines their charitability with other organizations and agencies including the Department of Education in NYC and the Department of Health in Baltimore. They also align their mission with the Ver Bien organization which helps provide glasses to the children of Mexico. In total they have reached over 50 countries with over three million glasses distributed. It is estimated that 2.5 billion people around the globe need glasses but simply can’t get their hands on a pair. While 624 million of that population can’t work or concentrate on their tasks due to this problem. Through their work War by Parker is providing a solution to this global issue.
