This was a partnership between Concreteislandista and Glamazon Cosmetics. All Opinions are my own and truthful.
Spring has arrived although it may not feel like it here on the north east coast. And with the change of seasons comes a need to try new fashion trends and beauty products. Professional makeup artist Kim Baker has unveiled her own line of beauty products just in time. Universal, classic and easy is what Glamazon Beauty brings to mind when you experience the line. With a wide color range women of all ethnicities can find shades that match their skin tone.

Kim Baker is not only a celebrity makeup artist, but a pioneer in the fashion industry as well. In her past life Kim was a straight size model and than became one of the first plus size models at Whilamenia . The time she spent in the hands of famous makeup artists like Fran Cooper, honed her love and understanding of beauty. What Kim came to understand after she left the modeling business was that receiving compliments on her beauty did not define her. Her acceptance of her herself was key to understanding how to enhance her natural beauty with makeup. She now knew how to make women feel beautiful by working with what was at her fingertips, natural beauty. Kim’s portfolio also includes working with famed makeup artists Bobbi Brown and on the sets of TV shows and movies. Past clients include singers Toni Braxton and John Legend. Tom Cruise, Dakota Fanning and the TV show “America’s Top Model” as well as many other celebrities have relied on Kim for her beauty expertise. The unveiling of Glamazon products is a gradual one as Kim does not want to overwhelm her consumers with to many products.

Solid Foundations
A lightweight formula is one of the most important details I look for when I’m picking a foundation. That is exactly what Glamazon’s Second Skin Liquid Foundation offers. The formula includes hyaluronic acid that help moisturize and soften the skin when applied. When Kim applied the foundation to my face I hardly felt it. As it rested on my skin it did not get cakey or to thick. It’s lightweight formula made me feel like I had no makeup on at all. There are 12 shades in universal colors ranging from dark like Chocolate Mousse to fair colors such as Porcelain Doll. Creating a wide range of foundation colors was an important part of the collection for Kim. As an Afro-Latina she has had problems finding the correct shade in make-up brands. She knew she needed to offer every skin color, so no one would be excluded. Glamazon Liquid foundations are available for $24.

Crème highlighters in the colors “Golden Goddess” and “Amber Lights” allows you to add the perfect amount of shine to your look for the same price. The “Blushing Beauties” blushes range in shades from pink to red. These shades were chosen specfcially by Kim as all four show well on both light and dark shin tones. Once again she concerned herself in assuring her products would work for everyone. “Paprika” and “Girls Love Wine “were two of my favorites, although at $16 how can you chose?
Kim also thought of the perfect base and finisher for her makeup line. The “Mystical Veil Face Primer” is a creamy formula that allows your makeup to lay smoothly. It’s light weight formula allows you to blend effortlessly and remain undetectable . The formula also hydrates and smooths your skin. With only 2-3 dots needed this $28 staple will last you months of beautifying. The “Perfect Pressed Powder” allows you to finish and protect your look. The formula is semi-translucent, which helps get rid of shine and absorb oil. This helps both people with oily prone skin and drier skin types. Caking won’t occur as the formula is lightweight. Shades such as “Havana” and “St.Tropez” are perfect for lighter skin tones while “Tahiti” and “Catalina” work for darker ones.
Lip Service
I was most excited about the line Hydro-Matte Liquid Lipsticks. I am a liquid lipstick lover and Glamazon is no exception. The formula has a perfect consistency allowing it to glide on not too thick or thin. I only needed to apply one coat for full coverage and was able to use the dole applicator for lining after applying a clear liner. I also love that the scent of the lipstick is a soft and slightly sweet vanilla. The scent also fades off quickly, something I appreciate as I am sensitive to scents. After being fully dried it survived a sandwich and dinner. What I loved about these liquid lipsticks were that they were COMFORTABLE! I also did the crazy faces challenge seeing if it would crack or hurt my lips and it passed the test. Once again Kim ensured the addition of moisturizing Hyaluronic acid for hydration. There was no cracking, peeling, flaking or sore lips as the day went on. Something that has happened to some of my other liquid lipsticks without a moisturizing base.
Vitamin E was also included in these liquid lipsticks. This powerful vitamin defends the skin from sun rays and acts as antioxidant against free radicals like pollution and loss of oxygen. It is also a anti-aging and anti-inflammatory vitamin. The lines Lipsticks in semi-matte and creamy finishes are also available in four classic shades of red, berry and neutral tones. Glamazon lip products are available for $17-$18. You can see Glamazon’s liquid lipstick in the color “Queen B” in this month’s “InTouch Weekly” magazine listed as Jessica Biel’s go to.
Eyes Have It
Glamazon currently has six universal eye shadows out. These highly pigmented and smooth eye shadows glide on effortlessly. The colors that range from light “Opal” to dark “Galaxy” are suitable for an everyday or special occasion look. The colors “Mikonos” and Opal which is my favorite give the eyes a pop of color without being to bright. The pink and reddish tones of these colors give them the ability to be worn anywhere. The “Lash Couture Lengthening Mascara” adds length simply with one swipe of the wand. The mascara’s formula holds up against clumping, smudging and flaking.

The Eye-Conic Eye Corrector covers discoloration with the use of yellow, green and peach color correctors. It’s resistant to creasing, humidity and sweat. The tube that Kim designed the concealer in has a clickable top that allows you to push out as little or as much concealer as you want. While the brush’s smooth bristles glide gently onto sensitive corners. The Eye-Conic Eye Concealed brightens your eyes and helps with hyper-pigmentation, an issue prone to darker skin. Brows are perfectly filled in with her brow filler in “Blondie” or “Chocolate”. They also work perfectly as a liner or eye shadow. The “Flawless Gel Liner Pen” has a precise pointed tip for rimming your eyes in a thin or thick cat eye. The gel base formula allows this liner 8 hours of stability. It’s no wonder that this rock star product received rave review from “Refinery 29” as one of the top 3 best selling products in leading beauty retailers.

Empowered beauty is Kim’s motto. Her love of beauty that began with the show “Dynasty” and doing her mother and friends makeup was an unquestionable sign of love and talent for beauty. With her 20 plus years in the fashion and beauty industry she figured out a way to bring that to all women. Glamazon is loved by fellow makeup artists, beauty bloggers like Patrick Star and supermodels like Cynthia Bailey. Here are some tips and answers from celebrity makeup artists Kim Baker.

The four years it took Kim to create “Glamazon” were spent wisely as the line is already a hit. I loved speaking with Kim Baker, who was so easy to talk to and a pleasure to work with. We created an “Azon” something consumers were encouraged to do as they created their own unique looks with “Glamazon” products at the Ricky’s NYC unveiling. My “azon’ was the “Latinazon”, of course as Demi Lovato on the cover of “Latina” magazine was Kim’s inspiration. Kim’s understanding of makeup and appreciation of natural beauty makes you feel confident and at ease in her chair. Speaking of which, Kim who does makeup classes at “Ricky’s” will reveal new class dates soon. Currently “Glamazon” is sold exclusively at the NYC staple Ricky’s NYC, but will be coming to a store near you. Look out for the unveiling of more “Glamazon” products and see more HERE. April 1, 2017I love the lip color she used on you! Which shade is it? I confess I’ve always wanted to find a liquid lipstick that would last longer. Apparently, this one does but is it prone to the hair-stuck-to-lips predicament?

April 5, 2017lol this one is Vintage. Haha no I have never had that predicament with liquid lipsticks, if the dry fast. Lipgloss on the other hand that is a sticky situation!
